The Monaco Grand Prix is one of the world’s greatest motor-racing events. Staged around the narrow, winding streets of Monte Carlo, the main attraction of the Monaco Grand Prix is the close proximity of the cars to the spectators. The twisting 77-lap circuit offers incalculable opportunities for spectators to witness the thrill of screaming engines, smoking tyres and the genius of the drivers. The Monaco Grand Prix is not only about the race through the streets. It is also about the harbour, the yachts, the surrounding hills and the breathtaking views of the port and all the glamour that goes with it.
What Paul said….Wow, what a weekend:- It all started with the welcome reception party round the pretty swimming pool at hotel Messuges. It was really nice to meet our fellow guests and prepare for the next few days together
On Friday you took us to Cannes where we had a couple of hours to wander around the place all dressed up for the film festival. I enjoyed walking around the harbour marvelling at the moored yachts. We then went to Monaco for the pit lane walk and then a relaxing drink down at Rascass.
Saturday it was up and out after a nice breakfast at the hotel and it was fantastic that you managed to get the bus parking so close to the circuit. We then walked up to our grandstand for qualifying. What a view, so close to the cars negotiating casino square I liked that you had found a lovely sunny terrace bar/restaurant where we could take lunch outside the circuit. A truly great find which really added to the weekend and guests enjoyed talking about the practice they had just watched and the qualifying to follow. Clearly I loved qualifying, not least because Lewis was on Pole!
The transfer back to the hotel was painless and we had booked a table at The Alain Llorca restaurant, and what a meal that was with such stunning views too Come raceday, once again parked really close to the circuit and we found a nice wine bar to have a plate of cheese and some wine with new friends. Then off to take our seats in the harbour. Truly, what a view. The cars coming out of the tunnel down to the chicane then in front of us down to the swimming pool. Thoroughly enjoyed the race and being able to watch the yachts and antics on board!
Back to the hotel for dinner at the famous Alain Llorca Orel where we chatted about the day with new friends, many who can’t want to join you on one of the other trips
We stayed an extra day and enjoyed the medieval walled village of St Paul having had a few hours sitting by the hotel pool
All in all a truly awesome weekend which was well organised and delivered the right result!
Thank you to you and Linda and all the other guest who made the event special
