2020 Belgian Spa F1 Grand Prix Eupen Best Western Package

Intro

About the Belgian Spa F1 Grand Prix package

Superlatives seem inadequate to describe the wonders of Spa-Francorchamps; the greatest modern motor racing circuit in the world.  Due to its high-speed winding turns leading to the slow La Source loop then onto Eau Rouge, this track offers sensations unknown on other tracks to both drivers and spectators.  The weather in Belgium is sometimes as surprising as the races.  It may be raining on one part of the track while the rest of the track is still dry.  However, whatever the weather, to many people, the track is still ‘one of the world’s most beautiful race tracks’.

For the discerning guest, the MotoExpress Belgium F1 package offers a fantastic Grand Prix experience.  A recently renovated four star hotel in the attractive German speaking Belgium city of Eupen. Situated just 24 miles (30km) from the circuit.  It is an ideal base for the Grand Prix weekend. Transfers to the circuit could not be quicker or easier. Country back-roads all the way to the circuit. The result is more leisurely breakfasts and more relaxed enjoyable evenings making for a more memorable Spa Grand Prix weekend.

When choosing a package for the Spa F1 it is vital to consider the location of your hotel. The cheapest packages will have hotels in Brussels, but the journey times will be 3 hours each way and the return journey on Sunday could be 5 hours! More pricier packages will feature hotels in the city of Liege. Although closer to the circuit the journey times are still many hours and will involve log jammed motorways. Other cheaper packages stay across the border in Germany but again you will spend as long on a coach as you will at the circuit.

Places are limited to just 22 rooms.  Our Spa F1 event is very popular and sells out earlier than you would expect.  Early booking is essential.

Ticket types

General Admission - Weekend Ticket

General Admission provide access to the free seating areas around the circuit.  Spa-Francorchamps is a hilly circuit, so General Admission areas include many small mounds, which offer good views of relatively extensive sections of track.  The areas accessible include a stretch alongside the extremely high speed Kemmel straight, between Eau Rouge and Les Combes, another that spreads on the inside of the circuit all the way from Bruxelles corner, around the high speed Double Gauche corner, and around Fagnes, and a third which runs alongside the incredible high speed Blanchimont sector.  General Admission areas fill up quickly at Spa, so get there early to secure the best spots.

Gold 1: Pit (covered grandstand) - Weekend Ticket

Gold 1 runs along the outside of the main straight, and overlooks the pit lane and the podium.  You will be ideally placed to watch the start-studded pre-race grid, and the drama and excitement of the start as the cars charge down to the La Source hairpin.  You will have a more distant view of the cars heading towards you through Blanchimont, before they speed past you accelerating hard.  You may then see them across the infield, as they head up to Eau Rouge.  It's an unbelievably good view.  You will see the chequered flag as the winner crosses the line.  Then the track gates are opened for you to take part in the podium celebrations.  Taste the champagne show and watch the post race interviews.

Gold 10 - Eau Rouge - Weekend Ticket

Grandstand Gold 10 is located between Gold 4 and Silver 2 and offers outstanding views of the Eau Rouge section. At this stage, cars sweep through this double turn left-right, before heading uphill at an incredible speed. The grandstand sits right at the heart of one of Spa’s fastest sectors and also offers a clear view of the pit lane exit.

Gold 3: Eau Rouge Classic (covered grandstand) - Weekend Ticket

Grandstand Gold 3 is the Classic Spa grandstand in a privileged position at the top of the hill at Eau Rouge, a prime location overlooking one of Formula 1's most exciting and celebrated corners.  This is a superb vantage point to see the cars racing towards you uphill at unbelievable speed, before sweeping to your left and into Raidillon.  Any driver straying off the racing line here will be at the centre of a spectacular incident.  You will also have a birds eye view of the charge out of La Source and down the straight, including a clear view up to the pit lane exit, making this an excellent place to see race strategies evolving.

Gold 4: Eau Rouge (uncovered grandstand) - Weekend Ticket

Grandstand Gold 4 is halfway up the hill at Eau Rouge, a much sought after spot overlooking one of Formula 1's most exciting and celebrated corners.  This is a superb vantage point to see the cars sweep left then right, heading past you uphill at unbelievable speed.  Any driver straying off the racing line here will be at the centre of a spectacular incident.  You will also have a birds eye view of the charge out of La Source and down the straight, including a clear view up to the pit lane exit, making this an excellent place to see race strategies evolving.

Gold 6: Chicane (covered grandstand) - Weekend Ticket

Gold 6 is located on the final turns of the lap as the cars come from Blanchimont corner into a tight chicane before the pit straight.

Gold 7: Source (covered grandstand) - Weekend Ticket

Grandstand Gold 7 overlooks the legendary La Source hairpin, looking down the barrel of the main straight.  This is a sought after grandstand, and a fantastic spot to see the cars charge towards you into the first corner.  This is one of the circuit's most eventful corners, a hard braking point, that is often the scene of race incidents, and a potential overtaking spot.  Your view also includes the hard acceleration zone out of La Source, and you may well have a distant view of the charge through Eau Rouge.  You will have a good view of the last few garages and end of the pit lane, so this is a good spot to see race strategies evolving.  You will be well placed to see the pre-race grid further up the straight, as well as the chequered flag as the winner crosses the line.

Gold 9 - Pole Position - Weekend Ticket

Covered grandstand - Numbered seat - Giant screen view Grandstand Gold 9 sits between the start line and the famous La Source hairpin- a great spot to see cars charge into the first corner at the start of the race. Spectators will also be well placed to see the pre-race grid further up the straight, a distant view of the podium, the chequered flag as the winner crosses the line, and the champagne showered podium celebrations and interviews afterwards.

Silver 3: Spa (uncovered grandstand) - Weekend Ticket

Silver 3 is located on the exit to the Les Combes and Malmedy bends as the cars head down the short straight before navigating the Bruxelles turn.

Package highlights

Eau Rouge

The 2005 and 2006 F1 World Champion Fernando Alonso explains: “You come into the corner downhill, have a sudden change [of direction] at the bottom and then go very steep uphill.  From the cockpit, you cannot see the exit and as you come over the crest, you don’t know where you will land.  It is a crucial corner for the timed lap, and also in the race, because you have a long uphill straight afterwards where you can lose a lot of time if you make a mistake.  But it is also an important corner for the driver’s feeling.  It makes a special impression every lap, because you also have a compression in your body as you go through the bottom of the corner.  It is very strange - but good fun as well.”

What you’ve said

Just wanted to drop you a note to say thank you once again for another fantastically well arranged F1 weekend. Linda and I were saying that you guys really do find some nice / quirky hotels for your events. as you know, we are already booked for Barcelona and will no doubt be booking one other event next year.

Paul and Linda

Dear John,

Hello and hope this email finds you well?

Matt and I just wanted to drop you a line to say how much we enjoyed the weekend at Spa. Your hosts, Paul, Linda, Mike and Isabella were just wonderful. We felt completely looked after and the seamless organisation of the weekend just made it so relaxing.

We are now planning Budapest for next year and very much looking forward to it!! Linda's comments about the coach driver selling beer for Euros on the way back clinched it for us!!

Claire and Matt

Just a quick note to say how great it was to meet you both in Belgium - we had a great time. John wants to go to a MotoGP next, so we may just be in touch again!

Thanks for everything.

Judith and John

Thanks for doing a great job organising our trip to Spa GP. Really enjoyed Les Tanneurs.
